How to diagnose the issue of your cold email campaign.

 


In any cold email campaign, only four metrics matter: 

1. Open rate (Benchmark: 40%) 

2. Reply rate (Benchmark: 2%) 

3. Positive reply rate (Benchmark: 25%) 

4. Lead-to-meeting rate (Benchmark: 50% pos. reply to meeting booked)

You must address and fix each one in a sequential order. 

Keep in mind, every iteration you make should be tested on at least 200 leads before the test is complete.

One other important factor is in how you think about sequence. Instead of spending time creating a 3+ email sequence before knowing if email 1 works, create 5 versions of email one and test that until it hits the desired benchmarks.

Once email 1 is at the desired benchmark, add an email 2 and repeat the process – adding more and more emails until you can no longer reach that benchmark.
