Is a 7-year-old is running your life?

When you were 7 years old, something happened.

Maybe a teacher said you weren't smart enough. Maybe a parent said "we can't afford that." Maybe a friend laughed at you in front of everyone. Maybe you saw your parents fight and decided that love means pain.

You don't remember most of it. But your subconscious remembers ALL of it.

And here's what it did with those memories:

It created RULES.

"Don't speak up — you'll be judged."

"Don't ask for more — you'll be rejected."

"Don't trust people — they'll leave."

"Money is hard to earn."

"You're not good enough."

"Play small. Stay safe. Don't shine."

These rules were written by a CHILD'S brain.

A brain that didn't understand context. A brain that was just trying to protect you from pain.

But here's the terrifying part:

Those same rules are STILL running your adult life. Right now. Today.

Every time you overthink a decision — that's a rule running.

Every time you procrastinate on something important — that's a rule running.

Every time you self-sabotage right when things start going well — that's a rule running.

Every time you feel stuck but can't explain why — that's a rule running.

Every time anxiety hits for "no reason" — that's a rule running.

Every time you KNOW what to do but can't make yourself do it — that's a rule running.

You are not broken.

You are not lazy.

You are not "just anxious."

You are running on SOFTWARE that was written when you were 7.

And you've never updated it.

Think about that.

You wouldn't run a 2026 business on a computer from 2001. But you're running your ENTIRE LIFE on beliefs that were installed before you could tie your shoes.

This is why affirmations don't work for most people.

This is why motivation fades by Wednesday.

This is why you read 50 self-help books and nothing changes.

This is why you set the same goals every January and abandon them by March.

Because you're trying to install new software on an operating system that keeps REJECTING it.

Your conscious mind says: "I am confident."

Your subconscious whispers: "No you're not. Remember what happened in 4th grade?"

Guess who wins? Every. Single. Time.

The subconscious wins. Because it controls 95% of your behavior.

So how do you actually change the software?

Not by reading about it. Not by thinking positive. Not by journaling your feelings.

You change it by entering the specific brain state where beliefs become EDITABLE — and then using a structured technique to rewrite them.
