When to add a note vs leave it blank

If your note is going to be generic or beggy → leave it blank.

If you actually have a specific, personal reason → add a short

note.

Bad examples

“Hi Bill! Please accept my connection request. I would love to

have you in my network.”

“Hi [Name]! Let me know if I can ever be of service.”

These feel:

One-sided (“do something for me”)

Template-y

Slightly desperate

Better connection-note templates

ULTRA-SIMPLE, CASUAL:

“Hey [Name], stumbled across your profile in my feed today – would

be great to connect.”

Key: short, specific, zero ask for time.
