Recently, my niece complained that she was worth more money than she was making while working at a local shop. I explained to her that her income per hour would go up in direct proportion to the value she brought to the hour, not by complaining she was worth more.
While I agreed that, as my niece, SHE was worth more, the amount she was getting paid to pour hot coffee into a cup was precisely what she could expect to make.
Today, one of the most challenging things for many to grasp is the concept that the value you bring to an hour is what you can expect to get paid. If you want to make more money, add more value!
